An integrated effort is reducing blackberry between Bacchus Marsh and Ballarat.
The Moorabool Blackberry Action Group (MooBAG) is driving the first coordinated efforts between public and private land managers to reduce blackberry between Bacchus Marsh and Ballarat.
Since launching in September 2017, the action group has signed up 45 private landowners to voluntary blackberry control agreements. MooBAG’s support for them in 2017/18 included a weed forum, subsidies for control chemicals and training sessions on using the chemicals.
